Born in Barcelona, into a family of musicians, he qualified at the Barcelona Conservatory of Music in the specialities of clarinet, composition and orchestra conducting. At the same time, he studied Law at the University of Barcelona and, later, he extended his studies in Orchestra Conducting in England.
In 1999, he was appointed Assistant Director of the OBC until 2002. That same year, he was appointed Principal and Artistic Director of the Julià Carbonell de les Terres de Lleida Symphony Orchestra - OJC. At state level he has conducted the Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the OBC, Tenerife, La Coruña, the Balearic Islands, Vallès, Pamplona or Córdoba, among others, as well as the Barcelona Municipal Band or the Barcelona Chamber Orchestra 216 among many others. He has also been invited to conduct in Germany, Poland, Austria, France, Bulgaria, Sweden and Italy. He has been appointed, during the 2022 season, as Titular and Artistic Director of the San Juan Symphony Orchestra, in Argentina.
Specialized in the interpretation of the bassetto horn and the bass clarinet, he has performed as a soloist of these two instruments with various orchestras in Europe and America. He premiered with the OBC, at the Palau de la Música Catalana and under the conduction of Lawrence Foster, the Concerto for bass clarinet and orchestra “Blue Mosaics” dedicated to him by the American composer R. Patterson.
It has recently started the presentation of its own TV show to promote the world of the orchestra, entitled "Orquestra't amb l'OJC". Within the field of popular music, he is the titular conductor of Cobla Marinada. In the pedagogical field, he has worked continuously with various young or amateur orchestras, such as the Ars Médica Orchestra of the College of Doctors of Barcelona.
At the same time, he has carried out an intense operatic activity. He made his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu directing El Retablo de Maese Pedro de M. de Falla. Recently, the world premiere of the opera La gata perduda took place in the season celebrating the 175th anniversary of the Foundation of the Liceu.
