Winner of the “Golden Baton” at the World Music Contest in Kerkrade (NL) in 2013, he is the only Italian in the history of the competition to receive this award. He has been recognized with other important international conducting awards and in European competitions with various ensembles.
Maestro Gasperin, after graduating in trumpet, embarked on an instrumental career that led him to collaborate with many orchestras in Italy and abroad, pursuing his solo career and collaborating with chamber and jazz ensembles. At the same time, he began his studies in band conducting with José Rafael Pascual-Vilaplana, graduated from the ISEB in Trento (Italy) with Jan Cober and Felix Hauswirth, and in orchestra conducting at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague (Netherlands) and at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Belgium) as the top student with “La plus grande mención.” He also pursued studies in composition and music education.
In his career, Andrea Gasperin has been: chief conductor of several bands and ensembles in Italy and the Netherlands, guest conductor in professional bands such as the Municipal Bands of Barcelona, La Coruña, Santiago de Compostela, and symphony orchestras, in symphonic programs such as operas, at the Arena of Verona, the Friuli Venezia-Giulia Symphony Orchestra (IT), the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liege (BE), the North Netherlands Orchestra (NL), and the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra (RU) among others.
Gasperin is the chief conductor of the Brixiae Harmoniae Wind Orchestra (IT), artistic director of the Ateneo Musical Society of Cullera (ES), and chief conductor of its Symphonic Band, chamber music teacher at the Cagliari Conservatory and band conducting teacher at the Milan Conservatory (IT), and continues his activity as a guest conductor, jury member, and conducting professor.
