Austrian pianist Astrid Steinschaden was born in Salzburg, where she received her musical training from professors Anton Czjzek, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, and Cordelia Höfer-Teutsch. She soon specialized in chamber music in all possible formations, as well as in instrumental and vocal accompaniment with a wide variety of repertoire. She receives valuable advice and attends masterclasses with Sergei Dorensky, Stanislav Pochekin, and Elisabeth Leonskaya, among others. 

She performs concerts in prominent European and American venues such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, and the Saint Petersburg Conservatory. 

She has been awarded several prizes in national and international competitions both as a soloist and as an accompanying pianist. 

Currently, she is a regular collaborator with the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the OBC orchestra, and she balances her performances with teaching at the Escola Superior de Música de Barcelona (ESMUC), where she engages in extensive artistic activity. She regularly accompanies instrumental and vocal masterclasses with renowned professors such as Luciana Serra, Nelly Miriciou, Gustav Rivinius, Gary Hoffman, Maria de Macedo, Amir Eldan, among many others.
