Born in Valencia, Aurora Peña has been the winner of the First Prize for Singing at Les Corts International Music Contest 2021, First prize at the International Lyric Song Contest Germans Pla Ciutat de Balaguer 2021, the Extraordinary Ferrer-Salat Prize at the International Tenor Viñas Competition 2021, the Special Prize at the Martín i Soler International Competition 2017, Young Levante-EMV Talent Prize in 2016 and Third Prize and Public Prize at the International Chant Baroque Concours in Froville (France 2015).
She made her debut at Teatro Real with Dido & Aeneas in 2015 and at the end of her early career she made her debut as a soloist in venues like Wiener Konzerthaus, Teatro de la Zarzuela, Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, Palau de la Música Catalana, Auditorio de Belém in Lisbon, Palau de les Arts in Valencia, Beit Hatfutsot Auditorium in Tel Aviv, Teatro Colón in A Coruña, Teatro Jovellanos in Gijón, Palau de la Música in Valencia, Teatre de Palma, Auditorio de Zaragoza or Auditorio Manuel de Falla in Granada, among others.
Furthermore, she sung under the baton of conductors such as Paul Agnew, Wolfgang Katschner, Aarón Zapico, Martin Gester, Virginia Martínez, Karl Friedrich Beringer, Luis Antonio González, Esteban Mazer, Gerassim Voronkov, Xavier Puig Ortiz, Pau Jorquera, Nicolae Dohotaru, Daniel Ros, Mónica Pustilnik, Albert Recasens, Riccardo Serenelli, among others.
In opera field, highlights are Don Pasquale (Norina, 2021); Rigoletto (Gilda 2020); La Sierva Padrona (Serpina, 2020); La Sonnambula (Lisa, 2016); Acis & Galatea de Händel (2021); Besse (Inquisitor, 2021); Carmen (Frasquita 2017); Orlando de Händel (Angelica 2016); Die Zauberflöte de Mozart (Pamina, 2015); L’occasione fa il ladro (Berenice, 2015); Los Elementos de Literas (Agua 2019); Vendado es amor, de Nebra (2020); Dido & Aeneas de Purcell (Teatro Real, 2015), among others.
She has premiered contemporary works such as Salve Regina by Ciccolini and The Lost Labyrinth by K. Houben, and has recorded the CD Amoroso Señor - Cantadas de José de Torres, as a soloist; Scarlatti, L'Asunzione della Beata Vergine and La Guerra de los gigantes with the Baroque Orchestra of Granada.
Aurora was formed at the Conservatori Superior de Valencia, where she obtained the Higher Degree in Singing, and continued her training at Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, where she obtained her master's degree. Moreover, she has a degree in English Philology from the University of Valencia and has received some literary awards.
