Passionate about the artsong repertoire, Axelle Fanyo won in 2025 the First Prize at the International Lied Duo Competition in Enschede (Netherlands) and the “Prix Jeune Espoir” at the Concours de Mélodie Française in Toulouse.
Her operatic and concert repertoire is very eclectic: Legrenzi’s La Divisione del mondo in Cologne with Talens Lyriques and Christophe Rousset, Leila in I Was Looking at the Ceiling and then I Saw the Sky (John Adams) at the Opéra de Lyon and excerpts from Saint-Saëns’ Mélodies Persanes recorded with the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse.
Subsequently, she sang Pulcheria in Le Amazzoni nell’isole fortunate (Pallavicino) with Les Talens Lyriques in Potsdam and Beaune, a recital at the Trasimeno Festival in Italy with Kunal Lahiri (invited by Angela Hewitt) and Debussy’s La Damoiselle Élue with the Orchestre de Paris under Esa-Pekka Salonen, as well as a recital at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam with Julius Drake.
Most recently, she sang Refka Adriana Mater (Saarihao) in San Francisco, under Esa-Pekka Salonen, the title role of Tosca in reduced version at the Opéra Impérial de Compiègne and La Mère for the world premiere of Hèctor Parra’s Justice at the Grand Théâtre de Genève. Future plans include the title role of Verdi’s Luisa Miller at the Opéra d’Avignon, and a series of recitals in Europe as part of the Rising Stars series organized by the European Concert Hall Organization.
