BIOGRAPHY
Carolyn Sampson is at ease in both recital and opera and has enjoyed considerable success in the UK as well as throughout Europe and the US.
Sampson has an extensive discography and has recorded for various labels. Ex Cathedra's A French Baroque Diva won the 2015 Gramophone Award in the recital category and the disc on which she recently recorded the Bach Cantatas with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra was awarded with the Golden Fingerboard. Sampson has recently released his first CD as a soloist accompanied by an orchestra, Chants d'Auvergne (Songs of Auvergne) by Canteloube, with the Tapiola Sinfonietta and under the baton of Pascal Rophé.
He plans to perform Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the Yomiuri Japanese Symphony Orchestra, Pergolesi's Stabat mater with Les Violons du Roy in Canada and at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Strauss's Four last songs with the 'The Hague Residence Orchestra and, as part of the 18th Century Orchestra tour, Mozart's Requiem in Utrecht and Amsterdam.
