The marimba soloist Conrado Moya is currently one of the most representative figures of his instrument at an international level, acclaimed for his extraordinary technical and expressive abilities, and his commitment on stage.
Conrado Moya develops an intense activity as a marimba soloist all over the world, performing with orchestras, choirs and symphonic bands, such as: ADDA Simfònica, Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa, Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia, Orquesta Vigo 430, Orquesta de Córdoba, Orquesta de Extremadura, Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, Göttinger Symphonieorchester, Orquesta Ciudad de Almería, Bilbao Sinfonietta, Coral de Bilbao and the Municipal Bands of Barcelona, Bilbao and Madrid.
His symphonic repertoire has recently been enriched with the world premiere of several concertos for marimba -of which he is also the dedicatee-written by Tomás Marco, Lorenzo Palomo, José Luis Greco and Albert Guinovart, the latter recorded in an album with the Barcelona Symphonic Band. Among them is also included Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto Heroico in a version for marimba, transcribed by C. Moya himself and authorised exclusively to the artist by the composer’s heirs.
His chamber music activity includes tours of Germany, Spain, Japan (2022) and the United States (2022 and 2024), with the project of J. S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations with Katarzyna Myćka. He is a member of ensembles such as Marimba Quartett and Li Biao Percussion Group, with which he has toured Latin America (2015) and China (2013,2023,2024).
Trained at the Alicante Conservatory, Stuttgart and the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin. Conrado Moya has won prizes such as the First Prize at the International Marimba Competition in Cordoba and the Honorary Prize at the Alicante Performance Competition, as well as the ‘Rosa del Desierto’ Prize and the ‘Amadeo L. Sala’ Pro-Music Association Scholarship.
His pedagogical work has led him to give master classes and marimba courses all over the world. He is currently Professor of Marimba and Percussion at the Escuela Superior de Música de Alto Rendimiento (ESMAR) in Valencia. Conrado Moya is an artist representative of the American marimba company Marimba One, with whom he has also developed his own line of drumsticks.
