Centered around the brothers Aarón, Daniel, and Pablo Zapico, Forma Antiqva is a baroque music ensemble that brings together the brightest performers of their generation, regarded by critics as one of the most important in Classical Music in Spain. In their over 20 years of existence, they have reached the most prestigious festivals, venues, and series in the country: Teatro Real, National Auditorium of Music, L’Auditori and Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Palau de la Música in Valencia, Opera Seasons of Oviedo and Arriaga Theater Bilbao, Granada International Music and Dance Festival, among others.
Their intense schedule has also taken them to major international festivals and venues such as the Frick Collection in New York, the York Early Music Festival in the United Kingdom, the Canberra International Chamber Music Festival in Australia, or the Auditorium Giovanni Agnelli at Lingotto Musica in Turin (Italy).
Their recording of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons was hailed by Spanish and European critics as a “reference,” and all their recordings have garnered unanimous praise from both audiences and the media. Crudo Amor received the GEMA Award for Best Record Production in 2016, Concerto Zapico Vol.2 the MIN Award for Best Classical Music Album in 2018, and their latest album La Caramba has already been awarded the Melómano de Oro, among other recognitions.
Forma Antiqva was awarded the GEMA Prize for Best Spanish Group in the Baroque and Classicism category in 2016, the Gold Medal from the European Cum Laude Forum in 2019, and the Leonardo Grants for Researchers and Cultural Creators for the recovery and recording of the complete Symphonies of Vicente Baset in 2020 and La Caramba in 2021.
