Gamelan Barasvara is a group with permanent residency at the Museu de la Música de Barcelona. Created in 2020 by Lluís Solsona, the group’s existence could be traced back to the arrival of the instrument at this Museum in 2013 and the creation of the Gamelan Penempaan Guntur group by Jordi Casadevall.

With the objective of deepening the knowledge of musical and choreographic performance of the Balinese music tradition, the group also embrace its local point of view and promotes artistic experimentation with the gamelan.

Under the musical direction of Lluis Solsona, and the choreographic direction of Judit Barahona, the Gamelan Barasvara group has been working with Balinese masters such as A. A. B. G. Krishna Putra Sutedja as well as with academic experts such as PhD Kendra Stepputat.
