Ivó Oller was a scholarship student in Professional Music at Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA), graduating with a degree in Composition, Musical Synthesis and Performance. He also holds a degree in Music from the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC), specialising in jazz.
He has performed on trumpet with Omara Portuondo, the Barcelona Jazz Orchestra (accompanying Phil Woods, Jon Faddis, Nicholas Payton, Benny Golson, Frank Wess, Jesse Davis, Terell Stafford and Ann Hampton, among others), the Big Band Jazz Maresme, the Barcelona Big Latin Band, the Big Band Jazz Terrassa, La Locomotora Negra, La Vella Dixieland —in musicals including Molt soroll per no res (Much Ado About Nothing) at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, Grease, Beauty and the Beast, Chicago, Cabaret and La jaula de las locas—, l’Orquestra Plateria, Amics de les Arts, Miqui Puig, David Civera, and the “Operación Triunfo” tour.
He has performed at festivals in Massachusetts, Washington, New York state and Pennsylvania, at Made in BCN and Dizzy’s Club in New York, at jazz festivals in Spain including Barcelona, Terrassa, Tarragona, Lleida, San Sebastian, Bilbao, Granollers, at the Grec Festival, and at Ramatuelle and Marciac in France.
He has recorded some fifty CDs, most recently an album entitled Way (Quadrant Corner).
He currently teaches at the Granollers Municipal School of Music and Conservatory and coordinates the Big Bands project at La Concepció school in Barcelona.
