Jorge Navarro Colorado studied at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama, furthering his studies as a Britten-Pears Artist and at the Samling Foundation.
He works with major conductors including Fabio Biondi, Ryan Bancroft, Laurence Cummings, Christian Curnyn, Diego Fasolis and Peter Whelan.
During the 2022/2023 season, his engagements include, Goffredo in Handel’s Rinaldo with Capella Cracoviensis, Lelio in Scipione and his debut at Geneva Opera as Telemaco in Il ritorno d’Ulisse, with additional concerts at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid and the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona.
His wider engagements have included Eliates in Keiser’s Cresus with Ensemble Diderot, the title role in de Falla’s El retablo de Maese Pedro with BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Berengario in Lotario and Giuliano in Rodrigo at the Göttingen Festival, Dameon in Acis and Galatea at the London Handel Festival, Emilio in Partenope at Iford Opera, Apollo in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo with Gothenburg Baroque and Gualtiero in La Griselda with Irish National Opera.
He is noted also for his concert work, concentrating on Sacred Music of the Baroque and Classical periods, performing with groups suuch as Bach Collegium Barcelona, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Gothenburg Baroque, Irish Baroque Orchestra, Israel Camerata, Israel Chamber Orchestra, London Festival Orchestra, Polski Chór Kameralny and Vespres d’Arnadí. He has also performed song recitals with piano for London Song Festival, the Ciclo de Lied de Santiago and the Sociedad de Conciertos Alicante.
His recordings include Lotario and Rodrigo, recorded live from the Göttingen Festival under the direction of Laurence Cummings, available on Accent, and German Cantatas for Voice and Virtuoso Violin with Ensemble Diderot directed by Johannes Pramsohler, available on Audax.
