Jove Capella Reial de Catalunya is an initiative of Jordi Savall and Lluís Vilamajó, with the intention of promoting a new professional vocal formation to offer a musical repertoire with the voices of young singers of the Fundació Centre Internacional de Música Antiga. The intention of Jove Capella Reial de Catalunya is to reach a wide and diverse audience with attractive repertoires of historical and contemporary music in all kinds of concert halls and historic spaces around the country and the world, and thus help young musicians in their professional promotion and consolidating their musical careers.
This formation serves as a source of future musicians for the prestigious Capella Reial de Catalunya and brings together some of the young singers who have excelled in the Academies of Training, Research and Musical Performance Jordi Savall, organized annually in Barcelona. The Academies are intensive days of a team of teachers aimed at young professional singers to deepen the techniques of study, research and interpretation of historical music under the mastery and conduction of Jordi Savall and his collaborator Lluís Vilamajó. Based on the transmission of their own experience gained by Jordi Savall and Montserrat Figueras during more than 35 years of pedagogical activities; from the Early Music courses in La Seu d'Urgell and Sant Feliu de Guíxols (since 1980) to the last Academies of the International Center for Early Music Foundation (since 2010).
Pedagogical, research and interpretation activities, which are developed on a specific musical project and which are part of and culminates in a stable season of concerts in Catalonia and abroad, complemented by a wide national and international dissemination through the recording of concerts by Alia Vox and Catalunya Música. With Jove Capella Reial de Catalunya we want to continue proposing paths for the expression of musical beauty and emotion through high quality interpretations and with historical rigor.
