Winner of the First Prize and Audience Award at the Tel Aviv Piano Competition “Arthur Rubinstein” 2021, First Prize and Audience Award at the Santander Piano Competition “Paloma O’Shea” 2015, First Prize at the Steinway Competition in Berlin 2015 and the Medal of the City of Seville.
Tireless and young pianist, in a short time he has debuted in some of the world’s major halls, such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Wigmore Hall, the Herkulessaal in Munich, the Tonhalle in Zürich, the Philharmonic Orchestra of St. Petersburg, the Béla Bartók Hall in Budapest, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, l’Auditori in Barcelona or the Charles Bronfman Auditorium in Tel Aviv.
With a repertoire that includes more than 30 concertos for piano and orchestra, ranging from Mozart to Crumb, he is a regular guest in the seasons of orchestras such as the Orquesta de la RTVE, the Orquesta Nacional de España, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Jerusalem Camerata, the Monterey Symphony Orchestra (USA), the Malmö Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville, the Barcelona Orchestra, the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, the Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra.
The list of conductors with whom he has collaborated includes names as Jesús López Cobos, Juanjo Mena, Pablo González, Ben Gernon, Marc Soustrot, Leopold Hager, Lorenzo Viotti, Josep Vicent, Pedro Halffter,
His recording includes a CD with the BBC Concert Orchestra of London, a solo CD for Naxos and two CDs with chamber works by Schubert, Shostakovich and Brahms. However, Juan Floristán’s recording debut dates back already to 2012, when was released his first CD, a live recording of his debut concert at the prestigious Ruhr Klavier Festival in Germany. This Spring it has been released a new CD acclaimed by all Spanish specialised magazines, as well an amazing media repercussion.
Since 2020 he teaches piano at the Barenboim Foundation in Seville, and since 2021 he teaches Rhythm Applied to Performance at the acting school “La Colmena” in Seville. Since 2021 he is an Official Yamaha Artist.
