KamBrass (2017, Barcelona) is one of the most promising groups on the current music scene. Founded by five friends, driven by curiosity and a passion for chamber music, their versatility is showcased in their repertoire at each concert, with premieres of unpublished works, performances of original music for the ensemble and idiomatic arrangements.

With musicality as their guiding principle, they have been awarded numerous prizes: in 2023 they won 2nd Prize at the Philip Jones International Brass Ensemble Competition (PJIBEC) in Birmingham (UK) and were invited to the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition (Japan). In 2022 they won 1st Prize in the Philip Jones Brass Competition (Lucerne), 2nd Prize in the Antón García Abril International Chamber Music Competition (Baza) and 2nd Prize in the Cambra Romànica International Competition in Andorra. KamBrass was also nominated for the Prix Credit Suisse Jeunes Solistes 2022 and selected by Cuarteto Casals for the 2nd Jornada Professional per a Formacions de Cambra in Vic. In 2021 they were awarded the American Brass Quintet Prize (USA). They were awarded scholarships by Jeunesses Musicales in 2022 and 2023 to take part in the International Chamber Music Campus in Weikersheim (Germany) with Heime Müller, where they were awarded the Walbusch Prize and were invited to participate at the Hohenloher Kultursommer Festival.

They have performed at many prestigious venues, including the Lucerne Festival, the Hohenloher Kultursommer Festival, the Barcelona Obertura Spring Festival, Kings Place in London, Palma Clàssica, Festival Musikdorf Ernen, the Swiss Chamber Music Festival in Adelboden, the Davos Music Festival, and the Luzerner Orchesterhaus. Future engagements include performances in Budapest and Hamm (Germany).

They combine performing with academic training, working with musicians including Anton Kernjak and Claudio Martínez at the Musik-Akademie Basel. Their training began at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, under the tutelage of Pablo Manuel Fernández, and continued with studies of chamber music at the Lucerne School of Music, taught by Isabel Charisius, Antonio Lagares, Daniel Dodds and Immanuel Richter, among others. Professionals including Rainer Schmidt, Jonathan Brown, the Kuss Quartet, Dirk Mommertz, Péter Nagy, Gerhard Schulz, Matthias Höfs, Achilles Liarmakopoulos and Spanish Brass have also contributed to the group’s academic development.
