Laura Aubert has a BA in Acting from Barcelona’s Institut del Teatre, and has extensive training in music, singing and dance. She studied violin with Santi Aubert; double bass with Marc Cuevas; singing with Dolors Aldea and Elisenda Arquimbau; and dance with Ester Sabaté.
A few of her most noteworthy acting roles are in the shows Com si fos ahir and Barcelona ciutat neutral, by Sònia Sánchez; El crac, by Joel Joan and Hèctor Claramunt, and Buga Buga, by Ana Millán and Alba Simón. She was a guest actress in Benvinguts a la família, directed by Marc Crehuet, and was an actress in the shows Això no és Suècia, directed by Aina Clotet and Mar Coll. She also acted in the shows Maricón perdido, directed by Bob Pop, and in the film Yo no soy esa, directed by Maria Ripoll.
Today she continues to work as an actress, and she founded the company Els Pirates Teatre in 2001, at which she has participated in most of its shows.
She has worked with directors including Lluís Pasqual, Josep Maria Mestres, Carme Portacelli, Alfredo Sanzol, Adrià Auber, Pau Carrió, Carlota Subirós, Oriol Broggi, David Selvas, Ferran Utzet, Joan Arqué i Guillem Albà, Marc Rosich, Pep Tosar, Moïsès Maicas, Jordi Casanovas, Guillem Clua, Pau Miró, Juan Carlos Martel, Oriol Tarrasón, Judith Pujol and Els Comediants.
She has been a playwright for Els secundaris and La setena porta, as well as the songwriter of the cantata Daltabaix a la ciutat, with music by Josep Ollé.
She has created music and musical arrangements for different theatrical performances and trailers from 2010 to the present. She stands out as a soloist singer in La flauta màgica at the Gran Teatre del Liceu – with stage direction by Joan Font, musical direction by Beltrand de Billy and Josep Pons (1999-2002) – and as a violinist in Kanye West’s concert, at Sala Razzmatazz in Barcelona, in 2006.
