He completed his musical training at the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg, where he studied singing with M. Hummel and choir conducting with J. Straube. To complete his training, he also took part in master classes with the singers M. Honig and P. Nelson. For several years, he has been accompanied artistically by T. Lichdi.
Martin Platz is a member of the ensemble of the Opera National Theater in Nuremberg, with whom he has already performed several roles such as Belmonte in Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Tamino in The Magic Flute or Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni. In 2018, he sang the role of Telemac with great success in Monteverdi's Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria.
In the field of oratorios, he has performed important works such as Vespro della Beata Vergine by Monteverdi, St. Matthew's Passion, St. John's Passion and Mass in B minor by Bach, but also Messiah by Händel and Elias by Mendelssohn. He regularly offers concerts in Germany and neighbouring countries, and he often works with conductors as prestigious as C. Hogwood, B. Labadie, H. Albrecht or P. Agnew, among others.
Since 2007, Platz has been teaching at the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg as a vocal teacher.
