The Enigma Group, founded in 1995, is one of the leading chamber orchestras on the national scene. As the resident ensemble of the Zaragoza Auditorium from its inception, Enigma has solidified its reputation through a bold and constantly evolving program that bridges tradition with contemporary forms of expression.
The orchestra, a regular presence in Spain’s major concert halls and series, consists of a roster of nearly twenty soloists who give the ensemble a versatile and adaptable character, capable of tackling repertoires ranging from solo and chamber music to large orchestral works.
In recent seasons, the ensemble has collaborated with prominent artists and composers such as Chaya Czernowin, José Manuel López López, Irvine Arditti, Niño de Elche, and the choreographer and artist La Ribot. Recently, the Enigma Group inaugurated the 69th edition of the Mérida Classical Theatre Festival, performing in the city’s Roman theatre, along with more than a hundred performers, the complete version of Iannis Xenakis’ “Oresteïa.”
