Born in Sallent and later settled in Valls, tenor Roger Padullés began his vocal training at the Escolania de Montserrat. As a soloist, he studied in Barcelona with J. Proubasta and, in 2001, attracted by the German Lied, he moved to Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany) to study singing with R. Pinheiro, with a scholarship from the Government of Catalonia. In 2009 he won second prize at the Francesc Viñas International Competition, as well as the Plácido Domingo prize.
After his time in Freiburg, he completed his operatic training at the Opéra Studio of Strasbourg (France) and then began a professional career that has led him to sing at venues including the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, at the Municipal Theatre of Santiago de Chile, at the Opéra National du Rhin, at the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, at the Royal Theatre of Madrid, at the Capitole of Toulouse and the Palau de les Arts de València, where he has performed under the batons of conductors such as Zubin Mehta and stage directors like Peter Brook.
In parallel, he also performs in concerts of Lied and Oratory at venues such as the Capitole de Toulouse, the Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg, the Rosenblatt Recital Series in London and the Life Victoria and Schubertíada de Vilabertrán festivals. In 2015, 2017 and 2018 he received the Enderrock Award for the best classical music album of the year for Mompou Songs, Tossudament Llach and Cançó d’amor i de guerra, respectively. He has recorded the complete works for voice and piano by Juli Garreta with pianist F. Poyato. Roger Padullés has also written and stage directed some of his latest shows such as Händel. Eclipsi total, Emili Vendrell, la veu del poble and the opera The Magic Flute.
