Georgian Sandro Gegechkori, 20, is one of the most successful young pianists in his country. He has gained recognition both locally and abroad, being called a "piano wizard" by the Georgian Journal.
He has won First Prize and Gold Medal at the 66th Maria Canals International Music Competition 2021, Grand Prize at the Vienna Feurich International Piano Competition 2018, and 1st Prize at the Yerevan Arno Babajanyan International Piano Competition, among others.
In addition to playing regularly as a soloist around the world, Sandro has performed at prestigious concert halls such as The Royal Concertgebouw, Mozarthouse Vienna or the Nanjing Performing Arts Concert Hall. He regularly collaborates with the Tbilisi Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestra and the Amsterdam YTO Orchestra.
His future engagements include several recitals in Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, Munich, Marbella, and concerts with symphony orchestras in Bilbao, Seville and Tenerife, as well as two recordings with the NAXOS record label and Solfa Recordings.
Sandro Gegechkori is currently studying at the Tbilisi State Conservatory with Professor Alexander Garber.
