Sílvia Bel i Busquet (Barcelona, June 24, 1970) is an actress graduated in Dramatic Art from the Escola Superior d'Art Dramàtic de Barcelona, Institut del Teatre 1992-1996.

In 1998, after finishing her studies and after participating in various theatre shows in Barcelona, she moved to Madrid where she starred in films such as Año Mariano or Torapia. On Catalan stages, she developed her theatrical career playing first roles alongside directors such as S. Belbel, J. M. Mestres, À. Rigola, Amos Gitai, H. Bonnin, T. Casares or J. Ollé, among others.

In 2005, she starred in the theatrical show La Xarxa by J. Brossa, an interpretation that earned her the Serra d'Or critic's prize for the best interpretation and theatrical contribution of the year, the nomination for best actress by the Butaca awards and the praise of all critics.

From this moment on, her career runs between theatre, television and cinema. On television, she has starred in series such as Ventdelplà, El cor de la ciudad, Infidels, Nit i dia and Com si fos ahir. And in the theatre, great characters such as Nausicaa by J. Maragall, Mary Stuart by Shiller, Lady Windermere by Oscar Wilde, Viola in Night of the Kings, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing by Shakespeare, Natàlia Petrovna by Turgenev, Jocasta in the version by Steven Berkoff of Oedipus Rex, among many others.

In 2007, she played Colometa in La Plaça del Diamant, which, after a season at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, toured for a year in different theatres in the country such as the Centro Dramático Nacional de Madrid. In 2012, she received the Margarida Xirgu Memorial Award for the most relevant female performance of the Barcelona theatre season.

She collaborated on several occasions with musicians such as Jordi Savall, Lluís Llach, Salvador Brotons, the Vox Luminis ensemble or the OBC. She also combines her acting side with literary collaborations in different media and cultural spaces.
