Xavier Pastrana is a conductor and composer. He leads important vocal groups such as the Ensemble O Vos Omnes and the Cor Sant Esteve de Vila-seca, a children’s choir with over 50 years of history. In fact, this choir has been the recipient and performer of most of his choral works for children.

During his training period, Xavier Pastrana studied composition and orchestration with Manel Oltra, an eminent Catalan composer especially valued for his choral work. Even at that stage, Xavier Pastrana won several composition awards, such as the Reus Composition Awards for Children’s Choirs. Since then, he has developed a career as a composer, writing both choral and instrumental or symphonic-choral works. His works have premiered in various venues such as the Palau de la Música Catalana, L’Auditori de Barcelona, the Auditori Josep Carreras de Vila-seca, and in the Basque Country, commissioned by important institutions such as the Orfeó Català and the Cor Ciutat de Tarragona.
