Barcelona Symphonic Band
temporada 2024/25

Dicover the new season!

On 23 March 2025, the Barcelona Symphonic Band and its audience will enjoy one of the high points of the season: a performance marking the centenary of the concert at which Richard Strauss conducted the BMB in Plaça Sant Jaume. That event, of which we have a photographic record, will be commemorated with a new performance of Death and Transfiguration and the premiere of Barcelona 1925, by Eduardo Betes.

This is just one of the great moments in store for the BMB this season, with conductor José R. Pascual-Vilaplana at the helm for yet another year. The Band's programme will feature several other important commemorative events, including the 90th anniversary of the birth of Valencian composer Amando Blanquer Ponsoda, the centenary of the death of Puccini and the 150th anniversary of the death of Bizet.

Nature as a source of inspiration will take us on a musical journey featuring such iconic works as Respighi's Pini di Roma (Pines of Rome) and Juli Garreta's Suite empordanesa , taking in some unexplored spots with Abraham Cupeiro's Pangea , which draws on the sounds of ancestral instruments from different parts of the world. During the season, works by composers such as José María Sánchez-Verdú, David Moliner, Pacho Flores, Eduardo Betes and Ricardo Mollá will be premiered, including the Band’s version of the latter’s FinisterrAI .

All this and much more awaits you in the BMB’s new season at L'Auditori, (Against) Nature (24/25), which completes the diptych commenced in the previous season with Power or revolt (23/24). L'Auditori’s new season reflects on the relationship between artistic creation and nature, with a programme conceived as a journey that explores the relationship between man and nature, from ancient times to modern-day society.
