Trained in Tehran and Paris following the Persian tradition, Taghi Akhbari is one of the most unique voices exploring the crossroads between Christian and Sufi mysticism.
Since his first public appearance before a European audience at Royaumont Abbey in 2005, he has collaborated with artists such as Robert Wilson, Dariush Tala’i and Kudsi Erguner, and with the ensemble Doulce Mémoire. In 2009 he was awarded the Diapason d’Or for his recording of Laudes.
For the first time in Barcelona, and accompanied by the Delgoshâ ensemble, he will present a journey through the legacy of two great mystics: Rumi and St. John of the Cross.
