Simfonia n. 3 “Urban Landscapes”, op. 55 (2020). Estrena mundial
If we had to name the four best composers for symphonic band today, we would certainly include Franco Cesarini on the list, a musician who excels in three facets: conductor, composer and performer, with a renowned career as a flautist. His work has been applauded on all continents and Barcelona will have the honor, in connection with this portrait of the artist, of hosting a world premiere: the Symphony no. 3 "Urban Landscapes", composed in 2020.
The artist portrait also includes The Haunter of the Dark , a programmatic piece inspired by the novel of the same name by the American writer Howard Phillips Lovecraft, which describes the horror story starring an evil being that inhabits a church abandoned and that can be summoned through a magic stone. The concert is completed by Bulgarian Dances II , a score that reminds us of traditional Bulgarian music and that attracts us with the fast-paced rhythms and melancholic melodies characteristic of the folklore of this country.
