Programme
The Municipal Band of Barcelona will participate, once again, in the Emergents Barcelona Festival with its director José R. Pascual-Vilaplana. On this occasion, the Banda Municipal de Barcelona invites the prominent Catalan saxophone quartet Kebyart Ensemble, recently named an ECHO Rising Stars artist and which is consolidating itself as one of the most interesting chamber formations on the international scene.
The Kebyart Ensemble will give the national premiere of David Maslanka's Concerto for Saxophone Quartet and Wind Ensemble, a work that displays great emotional and spiritual intensity. The Band will complete the concert with Mother Earth and Give Us This Day , two works by David Maslanka himself in which the composer proposes full self-awareness as the only path to a life rich in peace.
