The ESMUC and L’Auditori’s Sampler Sèries present the 18th Joan Guinjoan International Prize for Young Composers and the final concert of students of the Degree in Music, specialising in Composition. The bcn216 ensemble, with the collaboration of ESMUC students and under the direction of Ernest Martínez Izquierdo, will perform the winning competition piece.The Joan Guinjoan International Prize for Young Composers is an event that has taken place every year since 2002. It seeks to stimulate and promote present-day creation amongst new generations of composers, as well as showcasing and giving public exposure to the winning works. Winners of previous editions include Carlos de Castellarnau, Jesús Navarro, Josep Sanz, Javier Quislant and Nacho de Paz.
