ALBADA is another concert in the series given by the National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia in support of Projecte Home Catalunya.
The National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia was founded in September 1993 as the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia, changing its name to the current version in 1999. It was directed by Josep Pons from the orchestra’s creation until 2001, when Manel Valdivieso took over as artistic director. Since it was founded, the main aims of the National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia have been to give young musicians in Catalonia comprehensive training in orchestral music and play an active role in their professional development. Every effort has been made to offer a high quality cultural product, bringing orchestral music to audiences of all kinds, with a clear social and educational vocation.
