Cadence is movement, it is rhythm, and it is also the very special way in which music breathes. In pianist Álvaro Torres’ compositions, quartets provide a meeting point between improvisation and avantgarde jazz. “Cadence” as rhythm and as the art in which they combine. Álvaro Torres’ quartet talks about roots, about one’s origins, with the creativity and unpredictability of the moment, following the same lines as their first album “Specious Present”, which addresses our relationship with the present.
