Program
Anacronía, an ensemble specialising in performances using historical instruments, presents a programme based on the musical evenings organised by Johann Christian Bach, on the harpsichord, and Karl Friedrich Abel, playing the viola da gamba. Focusing on how different sounds were blended in those days, they recreate the atmosphere of those concerts in an energetic, emotional performance. They also include a piece by Murcian composer Juan Oliver Astorga, who was able to attend some of these sessions and became a friend and associate of the Germans. The programme is completed by a work by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach that highlights the interaction of the two instruments.
