Another evening at the Emergents Music Festival sees the Barcelona debut of young pianist Mariam Batsashvili, first prize winner at the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in 2014. To round off the festival, the Barcelona Municipal Band come together, with guest Catalan cellist Òscar Alabau making his L’Auditori debut after having performed in London at the Wigmore Hall and trombonist Peter Moore, who at the age of 18 is joining the London Symphony Orchestra as co-principal trombone.Another evening of music in the Emergents Music Festival that starts with the début in Barcelona of the young pianist Mariam Batsashvili, winner of the first prize in the 2014 Franz Liszt Piano Competition. Mariam was also nominated as an ECHO Rising Star by the Palace of Arts, Budapest. To round off the event, there will be a performance by the Barcelona Municipal Band featuring the Catalan cellist Oscar Alabau, who will be making his début at the Auditori after his début at London’s Wigmore Hall, with a spectacular programme that presents the quasi jazz concerto by mythic composer Friedrich Gulda. Furthermore, accompanied by the Band, we will also be able to enjoy the trombonist Peter Moore, who at 18 years of age now forms part of the London Symphony Orchestra as co-principal trombone, making him the youngest member of the orchestra in history. His exceptional talent also won him first prize in the 2008 BBC Young Musician of the Year Competition.
