Program
The Catalan Federation of Children’s Choirs is celebrating its 55th anniversary with the premiere of a newly commissioned cantata, which one thousand singers from all over Catalonia will perform at four concerts in Barcelona, Girona, Lleida and Tarragona.“Vet-ho aquí” (Lo and Behold), with music by Albert Guinovart and lyrics by David Pintó Codinasaltas, pays tribute to the world of folktales. This tale is the story of a princess who escapes from the palace in disguise so that no one will recognise her, fleeing from her father–the ruthless, selfish king–in order to find her true self. This quest leads her to the workshop of the palace tailor, who passes on his appreciation of craftwork to her. She goes on different adventures and discovers the meaning of love. An entertaining romantic love story where not everything is as it might seem, with all the classic features of a traditional folktale.
