Program
The ESMUC Jazz Project is renewing its transversal approach, blending training for students of Jazz and Modern Music with instruments from the Classical and Contemporary genres, the Cobla and Early Music. This year it is taking the multidisciplinary concept even further, tackling the additional challenge of combining music with painting and the visual arts.
Joan Díaz, Joan Monné, Joan Sanmartí and Lluís Vidal have thus added music to four videographic creations based on fragments of The Garden of Earthly Delights by the Renaissance painter Hieronymus Bosch. Each of the works focuses on a specific theme that brings together a selection of images and music that accompanies them: Hell, Animals, Landscape and Choreography. The visual potential of Bosch’s art is amplified by the descriptive capacity of the music, composed specially for the occasion, inspired by the greatness of the Dutch painter’s work.
