Ensemble Container

Programme

Container Ensemble, based in Switzerland, offers an experience based on mechanised sound and electronics. The programme includes both established composers of mechanical music, such as Conlon Nancarrow, and young composers who have already made a name for themselves, like Marianthi Papalexandri-Alexandri. 

This concert is a unique opportunity to discover a musical form centred on rhythm, with machines, electronics and performers working together to create highly original aesthetic effects.

The concert also includes a world premiere by the Ensemble, using the famous EMS Synthi AKS analogue synthesiser, the favourite of such leading exponents of 20th-century electronic music as Tangerine Dream and Jean-Michel Jarre.
