Programme
An exceptional intergenerational ensemble made up of musicians from a wide variety of Catalan groups brings to the stage a live performance of the melodic and rhythmic patterns of “In C”, one of the key works in experimental minimalism. The piece, originally conceived in 1964, was created by the Californian composer Terry Riley and is one of the most important and influential works in contemporary music. The beauty of this classic of modern music lies in the distance and relationship between the musicians involved and in the creation of canons, complex rhythms and spontaneous melodies created by playing the same score, but in alternating passages and different timbres. Each manifestation of “In C” is genuinely unique, and this creation has endless and almost miraculous potential.
