Programme
Ellen Arkbro, a young composer and sound artist from Sweden, presents a programme of music and text with Hanne Lippard and Hampus Lindwall. Arkbro’s most obvious influences include composers ranging from the Americans La Monte Young and Morton Feldman to Jürg Frey, Eva-Maria Houben and other members of the Wandelweiser collective.
Arkbro’s works are based on long monolithic sonorities, which progressively vary and evolve into new territories. Dense chords, the repetition of simple musical phrases and a very precise control of tempo are the foundations of this large-scale music.
