Programme
Ryoji Ikeda, a leading figure in Japanese audiovisual glitch or post-digital music, comes to L’Auditori to present his latest album, ultratronics (2022). Released on the label of fellow sound artist Alva Noto, Ikeda’s work has followed a consistent aesthetic line since 2000: music that seeks to represent in sound the vast quantities of digital data that surround us. The artist works with combinations of exceptionally high and low frequencies, generating a universe of extremes. Ikeda accompanies his sound work with thought-provoking visuals that illustrate digital data saturation.
