Programme
The Tast d’Orquestra cycle gives you a fresh perspective on symphony orchestras. It is a unique experience that creates a dialogue between music and the performing arts and turns musical discovery into a more enriching and stimulating experience. With the Tast d’Orquestra you can enjoy a selection of key works from the history of music performed by the OBC in an abridged concert format and be amazed by the theatrical production, loosely inspired by the day’s programme, performed by the company Indi Gest before the concert.
The ingenuity of Scheherazade, the narrator of The Thousand and One Nights, has made her a mythical figure, inspiring stories in other genres. There are even some without words, like the symphonic suite that Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov premiered in 1888, conducted by himself. A fantasy of exoticism created by the suggestive power of music, this sumptuous work is rich in colour and rhythmic contrasts. Before the performance, a brief theatrical presentation by the Indi Gest theatre company will contextualise the piece and make the experience even more vibrant and meaningful.
