Program
120 years after its premiere, the enigma hidden in the work of Elgar has not yet been resolved. But the popularity of this symphonic suite has been growing steadily. It is, by far, the most interpreted work of the English author and continues to achieve success throughout the world.“The main theme never appears, as in some dramas in which the main character is never on stage.” With a cryptic approach, but clear, original and colourful and with a music that opened the door to international recognition. In mid-century, another of the great British authors of the 20th century, William Walton, premiered a Concert for cello that has never been performed by our Orchestra until now. Now is the chance to listen to it, with its famous finale that melts into nothingness, along with another premier performance: the most rhythmic and powerful work of the Peruvian Jimmy López, under the direction of his compatriot, Miguel Harth-Bedoya.
