Two of the most firmly established composers on the current European scene, Hans Abrahamsen from Denmark and the Catalan Hèctor Parra, feature in this double concerto by Ensemble Recherche, one of the world’s finest chamber music groups. In Schnee (Snow), written for nine players, Abrahamsen presents a fascinating series of canonical movements of variable complexity, performed by various sub-groups of musicians, with two main groups using different tuning systems. The concert will also include a selection of the most representative chamber music by Parra: Stress Tensor, Early Life, and his two piano trios, Wortschatten and Knotted Fields.
