PROGRAMME
Toy Box is the OBC’s new family show, based on Claude Debussy’s music for the ballet La boîte à joujoux (literally, “The Toy Box”). This concert invites you to let your hair down and dance to an entire sound universe with a French flavour.
The melodies of French composers Georges Bizet and Stravinsky, along with Catalan composer Frederic Mompou, join Debussy to depict the music and sounds of street games and scenes involving children.
This marvellous world of light, music and dance will be conducted by Beatriz Fernández, former assistant conductor of the Barcelona Symphonic Band, who recently won an award at Paris’s La Maestra competition. It will also feature a surprising and colorful stage set by Marta Pazos that will take us into the universe of childhood.
