Program
The Eroica Symphony marked a ‘before and after’ in orchestral music. The critics of the time did not understand that a symphony could last more than half an hour, that instruments could be used in such a forceful way or that expressive themes could be raised to another level (in fact, this would be the inception of ‘Romanticism’). But time has proved him right and it has become one of the most performed works in history.María Dueñas, from Granada, is a violin prodigy: she has not yet turned 18 but has already showcased her talent on the world’s greatest stages. With the OBC she will perform one of the most important concerts in the repertoire, that of Beethoven, a work par excellence, that contains everything a soloist of her standing needs to take on the challenge: virtuosity, expressiveness, elegance, energy and good taste.
