Program
L’Auditori has invited the Catalan saxophonist Gianni Gagliardi to present a review of the music of the French maestro Debussy to mark the centenary of the composer’s death. As a composer, Claude Debussy not only revolutionised the field of classical music, but his innovations have had a marked influence on the development of the language of jazz. It is not unusual or fortuitous, therefore, for the Jazz Sessions to commemorate the centenary of his death. Under the name Debussy Ibérico, L’Auditori has invited the Catalan saxophonist Gianni Gagliardi to present a review of the French maestro’s music. With his vast experience and training in these two genres, Gagliardi will allow us to sample the resonances that works like Clair de lune, La fille aux cheveux de lin, Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune, Arabesques or Children’s Corner arouse in his imagination.
