Program
Ramon Humet (Barcelona, 1968) will get the Sampler Sèries and Escenes underway with a cycle of 80-minute songs for soprano, piano, shakuhachi flute, four percussionists and dance based on the poem Homenaje a Martha Graham</em> by Mario Lucarda.Humet contrasts the intricacy and refinement of nine songs for soprano and piano with ten instrumental interludes mediatius (meditative interludes) conceived as spaces for release, and creates a primal and primitive counterbalance to the density and expressiveness of the series of songs. The premiere incorporates the commission of a choreography created by Virginie Mécène, performed by the outstanding PeiJu Chien-Pott, a soloist with the Martha Graham Dance Company. A magnificent ensemble will perform the score: soprano Sarah Maria Sun, pianist Alberto Rosado, shakuhachi maestro Kakizakai Kaoru and Neopercusión.
