Program
After the enthusiasm and controversy caused by Teodor Currentzis at his last concert at Ibercamera, we are delighted to count on him again. This occasion, Currentzis will visit us for the first time with musicAeterna, his own orchestra with which he develops most of his career and recordings.
Mahler’s 9th is an essential reference of the Romantic repertoire. Premiered after the composer’s death, it is structured in four movements that lead to the extraordinary Adagio (Sehr langsam und noch zurückhaltend) in which Mahler wants to sublimate the sufferings of the end of his existence. We feel responsible that each interpretation of Mahler’s 9th becomes a musical and emotional event, and for this reason we have always brought great masters such as Valery Gergiev, Ádám Fischer and now to the great Teodor Currentzis top play it.
