The Museu de la Música celebrates the musician Carles Santos from the resonance of his legacy in contemporary practices. Tracing a thread between works by different authors, 'You already know how to play the piano. Rastres de Carles Santos' shows and collects testimonies, traces and actions that give new meaning to his mark.

From the piano performance of an abstract score to the silence of a scenic composition, the exhibition calls together images, documents, films and newly created works by Marta Pazos, Jordi Oriol and Carles Pedragosa, Neus Masdeu, Núria Roura and Goliarda Parda, that align these traces beyond Carles Santos. However, the traces of the musician are also those that have remained in other existing works, dedicated to or made in collaboration with Santos, and that today invite us to discover or revisit his work.

The exhibition conveys present and past with a selection of visual and sound recordings that open the window of what remains, from Santos the performer of the sixties to the composer of the great celebrations of the nineties, passing through the work of the Grup Instrumental Català. At the same time, he questions how the staging and filming of his musical performances allow us to rethink and transgress the audiovisual narrative.

With this exhibition, the Museu de la Música joins a Spring Santos that debuts with the exhibition 'Carles Santos. And now what?', open to the public at the Joan Brossa Foundation until July 21.

The opening, with free access, will take place on Thursday July 4 at 7 p.m. and will be attended by curators Ona Balló and Elena Lasala and with the action 'Escabetxina escabetxada' ' by Jordi Oriol and Carles Pedragosa.
