The transformation of the material is the basis of the creative process of the versatile singer, composer and performer Joana Gomila. She demonstrated this on her first album Folk Souvenir, with which she shook up the world of traditional music with her personal and daring way of doing things.Gomila, who is comfortable with a wide variety of musical styles and artistic genres, will present her latest work, Paradís, at L’Auditori. This new album combines electronic sounds, folk songs, jazz, improvisation, poetry and careful staging. Paradís is about the search for a centre of gravity from which to float and stand firmly in a liquid paradise that is here one minute and gone the next. “To know how to be an island, to isolate oneself, to look for other islands. Creating archipelagos, changing islands: the important worlds are neither few nor many”.
