Program

The National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia shall open the Young Musician’s Festival; this new project at L’Auditori brings together the best national and international talent.The JONC project, representing the maximum expression of the country’s talent, will appear for the first time on the festival’s stage with Shostakovitch’s Ninth Symphony and will complete the Soviet Russian-themed programme with Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto. This will be presented by the multi-instrumentalist Sergey Malov, who has a degree from both the University of Mozarteum in Salzburg and the Hanns Eisler Hochschule in Berlin. Sergey Malov went on to win such prestigious prizes as the International Mozart Competition Salzburg and the International Jascha Heifetz Competition with the violin,
and the Tokyo Competition with the viola.
