Program
To mark the 400 years since the birth of Joan Cererols, Jordi Savall proposes the two works that earned him international recognition: Missa pro defunctis and Missa de batalla.Born in 1618, Joan Cererols was the first great composer of Catalan Baroque and played an important role at the Montserratina music school. To celebrate the 400 years since his birth, Jordi Savall presents us two pieces that have brought him world renown: Missa pro defunctis and Missa de batalla. And he does so with the Jove Capella Reial de Catalunya, which seeks to promote young talents of early Spanish and Catalan music. This is a unique opportunity within the Emergents Barcelona Music Festival at L’Auditori.
