Program
We are celebrating the debut by Kazushi Ono at L’Auditori as conductor of the OBC. He will present the seminal French Impressionist work, the ballet Daphnis and Chloé by Maurice Ravel, in the full version for orchestra and choir. When the Ballets Russes premiered Daphnis and Chloé in Paris, the public knew immediately that they were in the presence of a masterpiece. Soon, the orchestra began to perform the music of this “choreographic symphony” without staging. Rarely, however, have we had the opportunity to listen to the original version: just under an hour of choral symphonic music. We will also have the opportunity to hear the sound of the Guarneri violin played by the Siberian virtuoso Vadim Repin in the spectacular Prokofiev concert, and to hear the first works offered this season by our resident composer from Barcelona, Hèctor Parra.
