PROGRAMME
The fact that Barcelona is a jazz city is attested to by the enormous number of musicians born abroad who settle in the city to train and make a career out of this genre. This is the case of Canary Island-native and double bass player Martín Leiton, who came to stay and establish himself as one of the most active bassists, also thanks to his versatility in other aesthetics and genres, be it Latin American folklore or flamenco, in which he also has an enviable track record. Caravana, the sixth album bearing his name, sees him joining forces with three young but already well-known names on the Barcelona scene, pianist Toni Saigi, drummer Andreu Pitarch, and saxophonist Santi de la Rubia. The four of them largely define the sound of jazz today in Barcelona.
